Robin Room - by the age of 3 (going to Owl room)
* Safe and secure - being able to separate and regulate emotions with a supportive adult
* Follow simple instructions
* Concentrate for 5 minutes
* To be kind and gentle to others
* To be able to take turns with a supportive adult
* Using the toilet with support
* Can independently put on coat (coat flip)
* Finding items/activities using visuals
* Begin to get changed for outside
* Understand simple sentences
* Can talk in short sentences
* Understanding happy/sad
* Confident on steps using a hand rail
* Negotiating space at speed
* Understand stop and go
* Beginning to push/pedal small trikes/bikes
* Manipulate various materials to build hand strength
* Can use tweezers to pick up some objects
* Can recognise first letter of name and make marks to represent it.
Owl Room - by the age of 4 (going to school)
* Follow complex instructions(2-3 parts)
* Concentration 10-15 minutes
* Be able to work through and negotiate problems with friends
* Independently use the toilet
* Put coat on and attempt to do it up
* Independently change shoes and choose appropriate clothing
* To understand why, where, who and how
* Hearing and beginning to blend initial sounds
* Self soothe and self regulate
* Understanding emotions e.g happy/sad/angry/excited/nervus/trust
* Pedalling on larger bikes
* Begin to hold a pencil in pincer grasp
* Can form some letter of their name
Each child should have attained goals in each area of the curriculum by the time they leave the preschool. Those areas are:
