Weekly update 22/02/21
The theme in the Robin room this week is 'Back to basics' (colours)
The activities this week include painting rainbows, the learning objective here is to learn colours and to copy a picture. The children will also be making a bead frame, putting colours and shapes together. Also inside the children will be weighing with scales, counting objects in and working out which group is heavier, and which has more items.
The 1-1 this week is a colour game to reinforce the children's colour knowledge. The children will be choosing colours of familiar things and will be encouraged to say the colours clearly.
Outside the children will be planting in big plant pots. learning to nurture and watch their seeds grow.
The theme in the Owl room this week is people who help us.
The activities this week include reading books in small groups about people and services that helps us including Firefighters and vets etc. Learning about all the different ways they can help us in everyday life.
The children will also be having small group discussions about these professions to show how communities work together and alongside each other to help one another.
The 1-1 in the Owl room is to create a fire engine using shapes to build up a collage.
Outside the children will be playing 'Stop, Look and Listen' This will help the children to understand important safety commands and to work on their listening skills.
**All of the above is extra to our everyday activities which include indoor and outdoor free play, snack, children's choice, story time and singing time**

SENSORY SOUND BOTTLES -
'WERE GOING ON A BEAR HUNT' In the Robin room this week, their story is 'Were going on a bear hunt'. In the room are pictures of the adventures of the books. The staff have made sound effect bottles to go along with the pictures. The children are learning the new sounds and matching them to the correct picture. They are also using them as props for their story. |

Today the Romanian children from both Robin and Owl room had a language lesson. The staff were learning Romanian words and the Romanian children were learning the English words. The children really loved teaching the staff and vise versa.
